The newspaper as we know it today is dying.

Circulation is dropping and dropping fast all over the world.

The Australian almost died about 20 or so years ago when, during an industrial dispute, he called Ken Cowley, then News Ltd chief and told him to "fix it or close it".

Well of course, the Aus survived that one and was run at a loss for a good many years.

It was Rupert's attempt at giving himself some political legitimacy, if not political clout.

And at the end of the day, it is power that drives Murdoch......make no mistake.

He runs his empire like an autocrat and its hierarchal structure is unlike any other.

Cross Rupert, and your days are numbered.

I could go on about this man, but regrettably my blood pressure will rise to such levels, that I would be in danger of black out.

    One thing is for sure.

When he passes on, it will be the end of News Corp as we know it today.

    Nothing more certain.
