Mr Murdoch is an old man clinging to old ideas. The dissemination of news is no longer in the hands of a single proprietor, it is in the hands of everyone with a keyboard. The day Murdoch shuffles off this mortal coil won't signify much at all. The change is occurring without his consent. However, newspapers will remain because they are tactile, something in your hands to hold and absorb. Reading a computer screen on the back patio with a cuppa is not the same. That his son Lachlan chose to bypass hearing his dad present his right wing views at Boyer Lecture told us a lot. Goodbye Mr Murdoch, thanks for nothing. Politics passed you by and you didn't feel the tap on the shoulder.
