Having said that, listening to Jamie on the results call, he seemed to imply that CTM helped when Thomas Cook went bankrupt and there were thousands of people stranded out of the UK (and my impression was there were other occasions), so perhaps the UK govt approached them for this contract.
Again, seems quite different to what they traditionally do, but someone has to systematically arrange transport and housing for thousands of people coming to the UK and to the extent CTD have negotiated an appropriate protocol (i.e. not offshore, no restricted premises etc etc), then its a service they are providing for an appropriate price (and there is the PR price they are also paying). I suspect there might be some corporates who may not join up because of the association, but I suspect that most would look at the offering on its merits and choose the best provider.
At the end of the day, if the business deliver the results they say it will, the impact of the institutional investors that sold is not going to matter......price will follow EPS over the long term
