agree - a lot of different interest groups (mainly lawyers and consumer groups) are pushing their own agenda here... i don't think they will get much transaction, as the studies they point to are hardly conclusive.
Any successful legal case will need to be supported by hard evidence here - given the studies pointed to didn't even accurately measure the levels of testosterone in the research population before medication - it is difficult to draw much from the results.
Its the FDA we have to worry about - what's the worst we are looking at?
- new trails / more research - who does this & who pays?
- new product disclosure / labeling - easily fixed
- guidance to doctors or additional restrictions to prescriptions - can the FDA do this?
- limits to advertising - don't think this is likely
- complete ban - evidence would need to be compelling - given these medications have been extensively tested and used for some time - very unlikely.
i sure there are plenty of precedents to point to here ? anyone have any insight into other medications that have gone through this process?
