’ - JERA Co., Inc.has made another strategic investment in the US market, reaching the final investment decision on a low-carbon ammonia production project in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, together with partners CF Industries and Mitsui. This latest US investment will develop the world's largest ammonia production facility with an annual capacity of approx. 1.4M tons. The ammonia will be produced from natural gas while the CO2 generated during the production will be captured, transported, and stored using CCS technology. The project has received enthusiastic support from Louisiana State Governor Jeff Landry's office, highlighting significant economic benefits for local communities, including the creation of over 6,500 jobs during construction. JERA's Global CEO, Yukio Kani participated in the Governor's press event, emphasizing the project's transformative potential and the strength of partnerships with the State and project collaborators.
