The one thing that truely puzzles me is why is it a Cairns based media outlet that has pushed this “story”?
Why not a Vic based media outlet?
Perhaps someone on here has knowledge of the rules of conduct regarding Vic police’s obligations to investigating claims of sexual abuse?
I know that in WA if police are notified of an incident involving sexual misconduct they are bound by their charter to investigate even if no official complaints have been offered or a statement has been made and withdrawn.
Could the use of the Cairns based media outlet been used to circumnavigate a similar type of process in Victoria?
If we consider the high profile people, said to be involved.
Would either side of the political spectrum want to throw any of the high rollers under the bus?
Some of the names suggested could be considered “influential people “?
