    re: nomcondo perth housing Cant speak for houses in Perth, that state has its own little growth engine happening with the mining sector.
    But here in my little patch of Sydney, houses are trading at about a 40:1 price earnings ratio based on current asking prices and net rental returns (after land tax).
    Personally Im finding much better value in the sharemarket right now.
    In the sharemarket, nothing trades at 40:1 unless the market expects its earnings to increase strongly.
    Are rents going to double anytime soon in Sydney?
    I dont think so but each to his own.
