Good article in SMH Business about the state of affairs.

It seems - unbelievably - that there is no requirement for insurance covering structural defects for high rise.

The duration of rectification works referred to in the report of the 3 gurus, the even lengthier period inevitably involved in legal settlement of claims and cross-claims, all seems to indicate current owners are stuck with unsaleable assets for god knows how long.

How long have we had government? How long have there been high rises? Aren't the public entitled to expect that a straightforward, delay-avoiding process would long since have been put in place?

And is this, as was suggested by some experts earlier, the tip of an iceberg?
