    If Swann is really that illiterate, to not know basic economic concepts such as the WACC, then I can't believe he has been allowed to preside over Australia's finances for this long. Surely he does not posess the required skills to be s competent person in the role of treasurer.

    And your right, the tax as it stands now, will be payable on basically anything that comes out of the ground, including phosphates and blue metals. That means everything from steel prices (iron ore), to fertiliser prices (phosphate), to construction costs (blue metals etc) will all rise in price. I wonder who Rudd & Co think will end up paying for this new tax in the end?

    If it wasn't such a serious problem, you would have to laugh at the economic incompetence of Labor.
