In an effort to try to bring the budget under control they introduced Robodebt - an abuse of power if ever there was one. Upon leaving government, the economy was in a real mess, with debt approaching $900 billion and inflation at 6%. So desperate was the LNP, that they even hid a forthcoming rise in electricity rates of 19%.
