I doubt that using Twitter to update investors/market complies with ASX company reporting compliance methods, even though this might change one day as more people adopt the technology & practice. My only complaint about companies using Tweets rather than traditional communication methods via ASX is that many people get left out of the loop unless Twitter users. Why can't ASX receive these Tweets and publish them on HC as NR's anyway? Then everyone sees the same news, albeit some later than others?

From what I can see, it's all old news or retweeted posts regarding the sentiment of gold, globally. They aren't using it to release crItIcal information prior to shareholder knowledge.

Correct. @wingedwarrior, they don't and won't use it to release critical information. That has to be through the ASX.

What they can use it for is sharing non-price sensitive information, such as news articles and interviews. They can also show photos and videos from the field or other activities.

For instance, if they're building a mine, they can share photos of the mine going up. It isn't price sensitive because they have already told the market they're building a mine, but it is nice for investors to see progress and what is going on.

There is obviously a line there where they can get in trouble for firing off tweets without thinking it through, which is why the ASX monitor it, but you're not missing critical information if you don't use it.
