Logic tells me that China will want as much of its citizens money back in its own country.

So the Chinese pull out, Aussies lose jobs as companies tighten the purse strings, USA interest rates go up, Aussie commodity exports go down, Australian currency goes down, Australia raises interest rates to bring money in, then the poor souls who bought in Sydney this year cant afford the repayments on a $850,000 apartment which was built in 1960.
