The truth is more people voted Shorten and Labor than Liberals/Nationals
Scott Morrison was not popular despite all the spin from LNP headquarters.
    .
    First preference votes:
    Labor 4,752,000 ---- 33% of votes
    Greens 1.482.000---- 10% of votes

    Liberals- 3,989,000---27% of votes
Liberals National Party-- 1,236,000 --- 8% of votes
    Nationals-- 642,000--- 4 % of votes
    .
    The difference is this :
900,000 approx voted Clive Palmer and Pauline Hanson -- 6% of the first preference vote.
    .
How many of the 488,000 who voted Palmer got hoodwinked by him because of his 60 million advertising campaign that was full of lies?
Scott Morrison needs to be on his knees praying and thanking Clive Palmer and Pauline Hanson every day - the white knights that saved Morrison.
No spin from the Morrison spin doctors can hide the above figures- its straight from the AEC.
