16 hurt in police chase crash

A CAR being chased by police has hit the Caloundra RSL courtesy bus on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, injuring 16 people.

The Caloundra RSL bus was knocked onto its roof by a Toyota Tarago van that sped through a red light as it was being pursued just after 1am (AEST) today, police said.
Thirteen of the bus passengers, aged from 17 to 57, were injured.

They were taken to the Caloundra and Nambour hospitals with minor leg, back and head injuries.

The three occupants of the Tarago, all aged 16, were taken to Nambour Hospital.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
