Police chase ends in RSL bus smash from ABC A vehicle being pursued by police has collided with an RSL courtesy bus injuring 16 people on the Sunshine Coast.
Police had tried to intercept a people mover just after 1:00am AEST. Police say it failed to stop and sped through a red light, colliding with a Caloundra RSL bus full of patrons. The bus ended up on its roof injuring 16 people. They were taken to either Nambour or Caloundra hospitals with minor leg, back or head injuries. The three 16-year-olds in the other vehicle were also taken to Nambour hospital for treatment. Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing.
