Frontbencher Christian Porter explained to the press today in Canberra that the so-called blind trust that he’s been using to fund his ongoing [detected by legal] is lost on him.
Porter, who is currently suing [detected by legal] for [detected by legal], is accused of not being completely transparent as to where the large sums of money are coming from to pay for the legal services of two of the most experienced and senior barristers on the NSW Bar.
“I don’t know what ‘blind trust’ means in this context,” said Porter.
“The only trust I know is that the gibbering old fools of Australia put in the Liberal Party. I mean, we’ve just spent two years arguing to open up and put them to the sword, for God’s sake,”
“But to answer your question, I think it’s ridiculous that [detected by legal] is allegedly funding my [detected by legal]. I’m a Hale Boy. I pay for my own [detected by legal] and my own [detected by legal]. At the end of the day, that’s that. There’s no malice in what I’m saying, it’s just that I think organisations like [detected by legal] and [detected by legal] should be held to account for what they publish,”
“It’s as simple as that. I’m a lawyer, I’m terrible with money [pauses for laughter] What would I know about a blind trust? I think those on the opposite side of the House need to take a look at their own house before they start throwing stones.”
