I think Santos knew that there major stake holders would be happy to pay for more shares then to sell off assets or get Moreton ball take overs. Short term pain for long term gain, which was evident by 86% of institutional investors taking up the offer.
Which if taken up doesn't dilute their shares. Now they have less debt issues and we'll positioned to outlive a low cycle.
We're luckily to be Cashed up somewhat at hzn and expanding. The future looks good, just hold in and If it takes awhile you get a nice CGT discount.
