thanks Fatz, i missed that one.
there's no doubt that if Beach has renegotiated its deal with Exxon, that it would be of benefit to Beach, but also, there would be some angle that Beach is working on.

we can be sure that Exxon ain't no dummy though.

i still think we won't see a development of PEL218 without a commensurate development of ATP855.
It just would not make sense.
it would be much cheaper and profitable to develop both permits in unison.

one would think that they could maybe start producing from PEL218 first (because its more advanced than 855) , but they would be planning for a joint development - ie rigs, personnel, pipelines, funding, GSA's, LNG plants etc etc.
All those things would come into play.

and remember - it's written in gold that the bigger the LNG production facility, the far, far far greater the profitability is!

so having the resources of BOTH 218 and 855 to extract gas from, would be a huge plus!

and a player like Exxon would simply add the expertise and the financial muscle to develop both fields.

WHERE THERE'S SMOKE THERE'S FIRE! (now thats a poor analogy when we are discussing gas eh?)

    cheers
