rise from the ashes; that video clip looks like a staged event to me but even if it's authentic it's hardly representative of the very calm and highly civilised campaign being conducted by the YES to SSM' Campaign.

In stark contrast to the example you provided, this is how Tony Abbott's sister and one of his daughters are reported to have responded:

"... The push to legalise same-sex marriage has officially received the support of Frances Abbott, the daughter of former prime minister and vocal No campaigner Tony Abbott.
In a video posted on the Australian Marriage Equality Facebook page, Ms Abbott said she hoped to one day see her lesbian aunty get married in Australia.
"You can't help who you fall in love with," she said.
"Love just happens sometimes and it's unexpected and that's kind of what's the awesome thing about it."

Ms Abbott's aunty, City of Sydney Liberal councillor Christine Forster, is also a vocal supporter of the Yes campaign.
This month she took aim at the No campaign for "trying to muddy the waters" around the debate by raising concerns about gay marriage impinging on religious freedoms.
Ms Forster has been campaigning alongside her long-term partner Virginia Edwards. ..."
