Where have you been madmarket? You are confused with OPES clients and ANZ clients. OPES clients signed agreements (perhaps not knowing but thats a seperate matter) that any stock lodged with OPES, OPES could then use as collateral to lodge to there lenders in return for financing. Once signed those agreements, the lender has ownership of that stock (being ANZ).

When I'm saying ANZ cant sell other clients stock in there stock pool, im talking specifiaclly about other anz clients, not the clients of clients. DO you understand how securities lending works?

And yes the first thing they can do is recall stock, but do you think that who they've lent that stock to can turn around instantly and give it back? no they have borrowed that stock for reasons unknown and the trail continues and it takes time to recall stock.
