I agree, it's not a silly question at all.

I also agree that shareholders, most of whom are either sitting on a realised or unrealised loss, would be reluctant to tip any more money into the company without some clarity on the future.

It's interesting how quickly everything has changed. Centro raised US$500m (A$600m) in a convertible issue in May last year which was 6 times oversubscribed. They could have raised $3bn in a heartbeat then, but are struggling to raise anything now. Of course the bonds have gone the same way as the shares since...
