    Hmmm, thinking more deeply about this.

    He must mean that "longer term inflation expectations" are currently LOW.

    In which case, the statement does make sense.

    I would have thought, though, given the surging gold price over some years, and the surging oil price over a similar period of time, that "longer term inflation expectations" are currently HIGH.

    But, perhaps, Big Ben and I are not living on the same planet.
