There’s a guy in the cops, I can’t quite recall the name of the role, who decides if an incident, crime goes to media blackout or not. It depends on the details and how It could affect the community. For example there was a stabbing murder last week at strathpine, was a mental who got out of a facility. Kept in blackout As locals would rage against having a dangerous facility in their suburb, etc etc.. The Ds get to work on Monday mornings and go through list of things that happened over the wknd,and it’s usually pretty grim.
