    Apparently the higher numbers are coming from opioid use and ODs during covid/lockdown. Not doubt many were "accidents" as opposed to suicide, but who knows.

    "Suspected overdoses nationally jumped 18 percent in March, 29 percent in April and 42 percent in May, data from ambulance teams, hospitals and police shows."

    "Emerging evidence suggests that the continued isolation, economic devastation and disruptions to the drug trade in recent months are fueling the surge."

    I find it interesting how this is being used by some as reason to not lock down and to open up the economy quicker. Virtue signalling at its very best. Recognize it as a foreseeable outcome and try to assist is what's needed.
