There is something big brewing.. more depth in regard to size of buy orders in recent weeks!
Heated merger activity in the hospital sector isn't likely to slow as a result of the slugfest, observers say, although smaller-scale deals should be easier to put together than a merger of the two hospital chains like Community and Tenet.
The hospital M&A market is "probably as strong as it has ever been," Jefferies & Co. analyst Arthur Henderson said. "There's so much opportunity out in the field with nonprofits that are really struggling," and those deals can be quite accretive to earnings for chains that are smaller than Community or HCA Holdings Inc. (HCA), he said.
"I do not think the overall acquisition market has chilled at all," Henderson said
