It is cheap considering what is at play here and not too sure they had too many options given the current market mood and timings of other events, the current Board had to move quickly and he was at the right place at the right time. 2. His background is light (lacks depth and experience) and narrow (retail only with no governance, listed company or other operational experience) and for the task at hand and the future and having BAL as the company he is about to seriously cut his teeth on isn't exactly what the shareholders need right now.

A calculated risk or merely a stop gap to shore up the current Board and prevent any further aggression from outside parties? Who knows but let him run for now and see where he takes BAL as the alternative wasn't looking pretty.

I guess as a stop gap ( interim CEO ) a more performance based remuneration package would

not be appropriate due to the short time he will be in the job.

The permanent CEO should have a performance based package . imo
