It's a give that political persuasion is going to come into this. We see it here with LNP supporters throwing mud at Bill Shorten and defending Porter along party lines and likewise the ALP supporters defending Shorten and throwing mud at Porter.

The thing is, there are are actually people who aren't politically partisan and genuinely concerned for women being raped, abused and coerced in the workplace and outside it. For sure there are plenty of cynics, me included, drawing on life's lessons and the evil that men do, not loyalty to totems.

I would have thought that the principle of the presumption of Innocence until proven guilty was a pretty big factor ( it's not a "totem") we should keep in mind..... and we have been nowhere near that..... a matter of fact we ( society led by a baying media lately ) have been the opposite
