I assume that you understand that all the melting parts of a glacier are old? The stuff forms right at the top of the range and then takes a heck of a long time to migrate to the front of the leading edge of the glacier. Its old by the time it gets there.

Did you read about the frozen body from 5000 years ago, released from its frozen tomb?

yes that particular pass was open 5000 years ago and then froze up only to be clear again 5000 years later.

Now what caused it to be without ice 5000 years ago? was that man then?
