Folks like @hersuit get these fake numbers from their rubbish news sources, never backed by data, just a guess. They pick a number so large that no one dare challenge it, because for some reason it must be true, because the Great Orange MAGA King said so.
Just like the "two weeks" timeline, just close enough to sound legit but long enough in a busy news cycle that everyone will move on to the next sh*tshow.
