Qantas doesn't care about losses, a bit more for them doesn't make much difference if they can wipe out the competition and then up go the fares again.
Yes, this is a test for the ACCC if they really care about competition or are just in bed with the majors.
I always said it is a bad idea to duplicate the main routes rather than looking at busy regional routes that would need an airline like REX most.
