Country living is off grid most things. Two kilometres up the road from me is no grid power and we are designated remote here.
We suffer some indignities like low maintenance on dirt road by council, no fire brigade within practical distance, couriers who hate delivering here. Such is life in the middle of a designated National Park. All are an acceptable price for living in a bit of paradise- I even have my own 'fire truck' for my first response. (Country people are resourceful- TNG is country people and resource full)
