yep the Eocene discovery could b derisked by a flwtest.
As for the volumetrics, quik example using a few variables across the field size. Note, this is just an example.
Assuming a 2500 acres areal extent of the reservoir, 20% porosity, 25m thk (or 82ft thknss constant across this area), 50% OilSat, 1.25 Bo, 40% RecFac. Multiply all these variables by 7758 (a constant), we could b looking at 79 MMbbls rec oil.
Multiply that with with KAR's 65% equity in the field to get their 'net rec resource' in MMbbls.
One could tweak a single variable out of the above, for example, increase/decr the area in acres, reduce the net thknss, bump by porosity to 30% & OilSat to 60-70% (low water cut oil ie )to get an OOIP. Then chuck in a higher recovery factor if the perforated interval flows at a decent BOPD. That's PETRGeo-101 for u.
Note, PRE r funding upto $70m per well drilling costs. So while the bottom section is waterwet, a flowtest would derisk Roo-1.
