I haven’t lost a penny because I haven’t sold anything, in fact I’m just accumulating. Playing a short game is risky and trading only creates capital gains implications that I just don’t need, so I’ll just continue to accumulate on the dips and close out with a 25% tax liability when my goal is achieved versus a 50% tax liability on the short term capital gains tax.

pac, my friend, my analysis may be monotonous but using the SP as a measure of accuracy i am pretty well spot on.
Consider your own strategy which is to accumulate on the basis that all is well because you haven't lost anything since you haven't sold.
I suppose that is a way to never make an investment loss. Brilliant!
