if the top buy is say .05 and the lowest sell is .06, and there is also spreads between the buys say the next buy is .047 then thats what I'd call nasty spreads, add to that not much volume and a lot of shares stacked on the sell side, then I'd call that a recipe for disaster for a day trade, no chart is going to convince me to gamble on that, so in that case buy/sell depth is not the worst indicator and must be taken into consideration
