I remember back when 'thumbs down' was available - I was trying to make calls on the threads and kept getting thumbed down. I asked why, and a veteran said I'd be getting thumbed down for calling stocks that some vets were silently accumulating.

My calls were drawing HC attention when they weren't finished buying, so I was getting the thumb.

So I learned that my thumbs down posts were in fact good - if I had no thumbs down, my calls were ill-timed or amateurish.
