Whats with the DOW crashing? Precipitated by Target's missing forecast due to squeeze on margins caused by higher input costs ( otherwise known as inflation!) and reduced discretionary spending by households as cost of living for basic neccesities increases. Really ! This sort of result was obvious to blind Freddy weeks ago or any one with an ounce of common sense, so why its taken Wall Street by surprise leaves me bewildered. Wall St lives in a world of its own, often detached from reality. Anyway, further news about margin compression and reduced discretionary spending is now baked in for the markets, so less shocks in future one would imagine. Probably some good bargains on the ASX today

It hasn't taken Wall Street by surprise - but it takes time to distribute at a market top, hence why you're seeing the occasional bear rally occur to distribute into.
