Different time frames for different stocks.

No one time frame will suit all stocks

Bigger name stocks with more liquidity you are more likely to have a shorter time frame 1-5 minutes

Smaller names ( specs ) probably 5-15 minutes maybe up to 1 hour ( as specs can often stall and accumulate for long periods of time before it potentially rallys in the afternoon session.

Also depends on the style of day trading, if you are looking for bigger spread traders, or scalping.
