OT - In an ideal world, yes you are right. It is a good place to share tips and information about stocks. But unfortunately it's not an ideal world and there are some ugly people who come onto the thread and basically lie about stocks just to attempt to pump them up so they can sell them.
So, you look at any tips and information and first have to work out whether the person is lying or not, then check the information. And in reality, that's a lot of work in a fast moving day trading thread. A lot of it you just don't have time to check and have to let it go.
It would be a lot easier if the liars weren't here but pfft, can't have it all.
