With the tailwinds that AGL has for at least the short term while legacy coal contracts still exist, I don't feel coal closure or sale should be on the cards... but clearly a path needs to be formed that may allow the company to refinance its debt and be able to access project funding for development of the next generation of assets.
NEM data has shown a great contribution from wind over the last 3 days nationally... offshore wind projects like Star of the South & Greater Gippsland Offshore will only help increase that contribution over 24 hour periods.
AGL board previously had dragged their feet on change... hopefully the next stage of research as to what comes next doesn't take them too long.
