In Fert Week on Friday there was an article about Morocco's largest bank, Banques Populaires Group (BCP), buying a 5.88% stake in Morocco's state-owned RP producer, Office Cherifien des Phosphates (OCP). They reported "The deal is intended to help OCP expand its business during the global economic crisis, which was hitting phosphate prices, officials said". They also reported the deal would strengthen OCP's borrowing capacity as it plans to invest more than US$3b in the 2009-2020 to modernise facilities and increase capacity.
