    Regarding mining companies.

You do realise that Australia relies heavily on income and employment from mining companies don't you?

You must also realise that according to all the experts on both sides of the table, mining activities must increase exponentially in coming decades to advance the World's demands for the massive increase for necessary battery minerals, predominantly copper, lithium /spodumene, nickel, cobalt, vanadium. This will obviously dramatically increase pollution over the decades as the required diesel fuel for mining equipment (further industrial polluting manufacturing) rises accordingly as well which is opposed to the Greens dream of preserving nature etc?

    It is a dichotomy.

The MASSIVE requirements of the "renewable" power industry is at odds with the practicality of providing the minerals for such power generating advancement.

Whilst personally and pragmatically, I am hopeful that in the fullness of time the renewable sources of power generation will largely compliment fossil fuel generation, the rush to renewables certainly has its pitfall and shortcomings and I believe that it is unlikely fossil fuels will ever be replaced by so called renewables.

To me, the logical direction for Australia is obviously to fully investigate the progress that has and is being made internationally toward effective and very efficient SMR nuclear development which may well mitigate any long term deleterious economic effect resulting from the very long term renewable power generation practicalities. This is especially relevant as Australia very advantageously has the World's largest deposit of uranium !!!
