A few whingers are complaining about the phrase "concentration camp". Without referencing historic extreme precedent, here is as neutral a definition as I could find.

"1. A camp where civilians, enemy aliens, political prisoners, and sometimes prisoners of war are detained and confined, typically
    under harsh conditions.
    2. A place or situation characterized by extremely harsh conditions."

Let's see how many of the parameters of this definition are met by some of the places where our great country sends people lawfully claiming refugee status but who have come here by unlawful means.

"A camp" Yup that's what we send these people to We even call them camps.
"civilians" Another yes, most of these people are civilians.
"enemy aliens" The grown ups tell us this is a war or refugees so "enemy aliens is a reasonable description.
"political prisoners" Absolutely! They are not charged. They do not face court. They can't apply for bail. Their possessions are stolen by our governments agents. They do not have freedom of movement. They are political prisoners in every sense you can imagine.
"harsh conditions". The chap with ministerial responsibility gloats about the harsh conditions. Two men have died under the conditions and at least two babies have not survived. No one in their right mind could pretend that we run our concentration camps under anything but harsh conditions.

What messages are our courts sending us?

What sort of compensation payments will we have to pay?

    Face the facts right whingers.

Australia sends asylum seekers to concentration camps.
