All a bit backarsed . The free trade deal signed with China explicitly says US BARLEY. The first salvo in the ridiculous back out by China started 2 yrs ago when they accused us of "dumping" cheap barley . At the time Mid drought barley was at a record high price and we were shipping it over from WA to feed stock at a price WAAYY above whatever the export market was . The whole thing is a big joke they were always going to drop our barley for US barley anyway. As for beef current beef prices are the in Australia are the highest in recorded history and asI have been involved in selling wagyu beef to many countries , including China I can tell you the ONLY thing that China worries about is price . All a bit of a silly yawn from my perch , One other thing not mentioned is that due to African Swine flu Chinas stock feed demands fell just as quickly as their pig numbers.

I think we should start looking for markets elsewhere and give china the flick , the next move for China after , barly ,beef , wine , rock lobsters , timber , will be IRON ORE somewhere down the road.
