Wrong. The subs are based in WA and currently maintenance is performed at their base at either garden island or at Henderson shipyards. Building a sub and maintaining it are two very separate skills. You dont have motor builders running vehicle repair shops. The loss of highly skilled maintenance workers from WA with years of experience and replacing them with less experienced staff is not a wise move if you want to run a sub a few hundred metres underwater.
You dont send a sub that is based in Perth all the way to Adelaide to fix broken parts. That is bizarre and dangerous.
Collins class should have remained in WA while Adelaide could concentrate on building whatever design the yanks flog off to us.
