@trashcansinatra; I did indeed watch Payne's excruciating press conference and ended up totally disgusted that the matter has been flicked down to the AFP for them to bury. Her disgraceful response explains why I launched this thread - she should have been sacked on the spot and if she has any decency at all she'll apologise and resign!
There is nothing more basic than the security of Australians travelling abroad and Morrison's gutless response means that officials in other countries can do what they like with impunity!
Step 1: Immediately ban all travel by Australians to or via Qatar - as done with China on February 1st. Step 2: Foul mouth Qatar aka what Morrison does to China Step 3: Suspend Australia's diplomatic relations with Qatar, effective immediately. Step 4: Pursue the matter through the UN demanding financial compensation Qatar - aka done to China & Covid!9.
Fair dinkum, Morrison's lack of concern for Australians is sickening!
