I don't think Dutton would be an advantage for winning any election. maybe they'll use him for a year or two as opposition leader as he's a good attack dog type. then replace him with a more moderate type.

I think they effectively lost the moderate votes, the SPEC type Turnbull voters. These voters are fairly well educated and knew if they voted Liberal again, they'd get the same team again which they certainly did not want. they also can't bring themselves to vote labor. they certainly weren't going to reward Morrison again.

I almost had a punt on Monique Ryan. my basic thinking was it's pretty hard to fault a person that literally saves children's lives for a living.

my analysis was it was more of an anti Morrison and front bench vote then a Labor vote
