agree --- my gut says that UK is probably in for more upheaval than somewhere like Oz
I suppose that's fairly obvious - but, I really was stunned when I was in the UK - just trying to get things done
after being in SEA -- when I went to the UK - I thought - this will be a doddle - same language, similar culture
wow - was I ever wrong. They are so reluctant to change --- so, when the big change comes - I would not be half surprised if they have the mother of all cultural fights - and, now - without being part of the EU family - gosh - that's going to be interesting.
Oz will probably cruise by it -- how - ? well - it will be 'what type of republic?' I guess.
so, whilst I think that will, by itself not be too big a deal - the complication is the time of history - and, that - might throw a huge spanner in the works.
IMO - the next term or 2 in government - if it's a Labor government - might be a critical turning point in history.
if it's not in the next 2 terms - it's a guarantee within 20 years IMO
