Yet again I must query the validity of the matter of attacking the ‘interest’. Query its quantum and perhaps its rate and method assessed, but you cannot query its legitimacy as a genuine cost incurred. Plus I might add that a dollar expended just a year ago by SHJ in assisting to win this case - even if repaid today will only buy 92c in equivalent goods and services courtesy of inflation. But insurance companies know this, which is why it takes years to settle these matters. They ‘inflate away’ the future purchasing power of a large settlement.
