whilst that may be true ------------ it's the trend that drives people away - not just one government
I've met heaps of yanks - both here and in Asia - and, in Tas - who have no intention of returning -- Trump really sealed the deal for them.
I've currently got some friends who are about to jettison the US totally - even though it sends their tax bill through the roof because they will cut all ties with the USA and be all in French
their argument is that they don't have strong family ties to bind them to the USA - because they can see their kids if they fly there or the kids fly to them. - and, as far as living in France compared to the USA - it's chalk and cheese quality of life wise and lifestyle.
Even the young ones I met in Asia -that were going to go back to the states - they didn't want to - but, they were going back because they could get better money - then, when they had the kitty replenished - they would return to Asia - if they could make it stack up in Asia -they would cut the US loose.
the world has changed - and, people know now - commonly that they are not bonded to any one country - certainly not where they were born or raised. ----------- It's a small world - but, a big world.
