@Cowboyinvestor; countries like the USA and those in Europe are already transitioning to EVs and their governments are investing heavily in the provision of charging stations.
They'll run their old car manufacturing lines with filthy fossil fuel vehicles until that becomes uneconomic to do so - aka our old coal-fired power stations. But they won't invest in new versions / upgrades so the likes of Australia will end up with a Cuban car fleet as innovative countries dump what they don't want and send us their discards.
By 2030 most of the 'new' cars on our roads will have been made in China, Russia and India.
